Hazard affirms Chelsea struggles because of the departure of Diego Costa and others.

Hazard accepts the struggles his side is facing is due to the 2017 summer changes at Chelsea.

Chelsea lost Diego Costa following Conte’s loss of interest in the Spain international, followed by big names such as Nemanja Matic and then Nathan Ake.

Hazard admits too much selling and buying of players has affected the performance of the premier league title holders.

“We changed a couple of things, we lost players, we brought some new ones and every year is different.”

Hazard also believes his love for football is because of the changes in both players and dominance of teams.

“That’s why we love football. If there is only team that wins it would be boring. That’s why football is special. You never know what’s going to happen, especially in England.”

It’s crystal clear that Manchester City will lift the domestic league this season given their unstoppable performance but it’s unexpected and unbelievable that Chelsea on the other side is not Man City’s immediate competitor.

The Blues have had poor record in the recent times with losing three of their last four fixtures, 2-1 to Arsenal, 3-0 to Bournemouth and 4-1 to Watford.

In that regard Hazard also admitted the Premier League is difficult. Chelsea didn’t qualify for the Champions league in the previous edition but their participation in the running tournament according to Hazard makes it harder to win trophies.

“It’s hard to win every year. Last year we didn’t have the Champions league. This year we have less time to be ready for the games. Every week there are three games.”

The Blues will play Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16, leg 1 of 2 on February 12th, before a return leg slated to take place on March 14th

Meanwhile on the Premier League table Antonio Conte’s team is 4th with 50 points, 19 points behind table leaders Manchester City.
