NSIBAMBI TAKES TWO AS UGANDA CRANES WHIP SOUTHERN NEIGHBORS

Nsibambi scores brace in Uganda’s 5-1 victory over South Sudan in the CECAFA Senior challenge cup at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Following a disappointing result in the previous fixture, Moses Basena’s boys replied well to his call by thumping the opponents in the 2nd fixture of Group B in which Milton Karisa of Vipers, Derrick Nsibambi of KCCA, Hood Kaweesa of Police FC and Vipers Captain Nico Wakiro Wadada all accessed the net.

With the only goal of South Sudan coming from Luak Wol at the 25th minutes. Karisa opened the scores for the defending champions at the 7th minutes off Muzamil Mutyaba’s assist, before Kaweesa doubled the lead at the 10th minutes off Isaac Muleme assist.

KCCA striker Nsibambi scored at the 30th and 50th minutes respectively. The 21-year-old striker’s first goal came from a stunning long range effort before completing his brace in in second half.

Right back Wadada made the final statement over Sudan with 5 minutes left for full time to change the scores to 5.

The win not only lifted the cranes to the top of group B table with 4 points as Burundi’s but gave them a superior goal difference a head of second place Burundi.

Ethiopia follows Burundi in the 3rd place with 3 points whereas South Sudan seats at the bottom with a point.

Uganda will seek more points from Ethiopia in their next fixture in order to break free from shared points as hopeless S. Sudan will play for formality with Burundi.
