Hazard scored the leveler after Chelsea trailed by a goal to nil for 9 minutes given the early lead taken by Newcastle through Gayle’s goal.

Alvaro Morata completed the comeback at the 33rd minutes before Hazard doubled their lead from the 12 yards.

Alvaro Morata can’t stop scoring with his head

The beast in Chelsea became open after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois parried Jacob Murphy’s shot and Gayle clinically finished to give the Magpies the lead at the 12 minutes

Hazard being component of the beast was the main factor too in the fight as the Belgian international smashed home a ball coming towards him from a blockage by Florian Lejeune.

Before the first half ended, former Real Madrid striker Morata completed the comeback for the Blues with a header off Victor Moses shot.

Ritchie who brought down Moses in the box got paid with a penalty against his side as Hazard stepped in to complete his brace and change his season domestic goal tally to 7 at the 74th minutes.

Following the pleasing comeback, Antonio Conte recognized the good motivation and intensity showed by his boys.

“I think our start wasn’t good enough. After going 1-0 down, we started to play with good intensity and good football. Our start was a bit slow. We did well after only two days’ rest. It was a solid performance despite the goal. We showed good motivation and good intensity. I made rotations in the game and the response of my players was positive. I think that today, to play and win after two days of rest means a lot. Newcastle had the advantage with one day more of rest.”

Whereas Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez had this to say in the post-match press conference.

“We made mistakes against good players. With the quality they have, they punish you. We were in the game and you never know what can happen at one each, 2-1. A top side played against a team that was giving everything. We knew him [Hazard] really well. He has good movements. You cannot control everyone. When he received the ball he can make the difference. We were doing quite well for a while but mistakes made the difference.”

Although it was a nice win for Hazard and teammates, they still remain 3rd on the table. They will play Atletico Madrid in their next fixture in the Champions League on Tuesday before battling out with another London nemesis West Ham United the following Saturday.

The defeat positions Newcastle 14th on the table with 15 points. They will play Leicester City in their next fixture on Saturday.
