KCCA and Mbarara City played a goalless draw in match day 13 at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
The defending champions were showed a signs of no win by the hosts from the start as they made their first attempt on goal at the 2nd minutes.
The 9th minutes saw Ali Kimera save Mbarara City FC from a threat off Allan Katerrega’s corner.
Mbarara’s dominance for some minutes tore the seemingly hard to tear defense consisting of Obenchan, Kizza and Awany with the exception of goal keeper Benjamin Ochan who saved the occasion.
Meanwhile at the 26th minutes Kizza and Mucureezi’s efforts to try an access past Kimera remained futile as the Mbarara City FC goal keeper understood his role more than imagination.
A volley at the 37th minutes from Katerrega who was deployed in the attacking midfield couldn’t give a breakthrough for the visitors’ either except revealed the brilliance in Kimera profoundly.
After a fun and full of goal scoring chances but goalless first half, both sides returned to replicate the same story in the second half.
With numerous attempts from various players on both sides, one notable one came at the 80th minutes when substitute Derrick Nsibambi understood why he was brought, made a powerful shot which was confidently saved by Kimera.
With the unbreakable defense of Mbarara FC consisting of Waibi Yeseri, Mukundani Hillary, Asuman Alishe, Otieno Steven and good attacking partnership of KCCA players consisting of Oryek, Kaddu, Nsibambi, midfielders Katerrega, Mutyaba and substitute Allan Okello the best the game produced was a goalless draw.
The draw is 5th for 3rd placed KCCA FC and the 6th for 12th placed Mbarara City FC. Just like the rest of the teams, both will rest for 3 weeks before resuming with the next fixtures.
As KCCA FC will be hosting Kirinya Jinja SSS at the Lugogo StarTimes Stadium on 19th December, Mbarara FC will be at the Mandela National Stadium playing URA.
