Magogo has promised to give the Uganda Cranes players winning Bonus of $3000 in case they beat Black Stars of Ghana in the FIFA World cup qualifiers scheduled to take place today at 4:00pm at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole – Kampala.
Initially the players were given $2500 bonus for winning matches however based on the FUFA president’s latest speech there is an increment of $500. In his own words this is what he had to say;
“This is a very important match which should be treated as a Cup final for that matter, we have increased the winning bonus from $2500 to $3000’”
Magogo made the promise to the players during his visit to the camp at Sky Hotel in Naalya. He as well delivered the message of the President of the Republic of Uganda.
“The President of Uganda asked me to deliver his message that he wants you to qualify to the World Cup” Said Magogo.
Magogo believes as he told the players that Uganda still stands a bigger chance of qualifying to the world cup on condition that the two remaining matches against Ghana and Congo Brazzaville end in victory.
The optimistic Magogo emphasized that much as the players should work hard to make people happy and the country proud, they shouldn’t forget themselves as players given the fact that foot is their livelihood.
“…..Though you need to make people happy, don’t forget yourself and you should know that football your business…” quoted the President.
