Barcelona fixture with Las Palmas at camp Nou remained the same inspite of request by the Catalan club to football organizer for postponement of the game.
Failure of the Laliga organizer to respond positively to the table leaders request forced them to disallow fans from accessing the pitch.
“FC Barcelona condemns the events which have taken place in many parts of Catalonia today in order to prevent its citizens exercising their democratic right to free expression. Given the exceptional nature of events, the Board of Directors have decided that the FC Barcelona first team game against Las Palmas will be played behind closed doors following the professional Football League’s refusal to postpone the game.” Reads the statement.
What then would have happened to Barca? It’s reportedly said that the Laliga giants would have their six points deducted and be charged with a fine forcing them to play the game behind closed doors to prevent any disciplinary.
