Mutebi speaks about Mo Shaban of Onduparaka ahead of the big encounter on Tuesday. Shaban’s vague Facebook post caused controversies and developed uncertainty over his future and hate in the hearts of his own fans.

During the pre-match press conference at Lugogo today, Mike Mutebi cleared the air about the player whose desire is to leave Onduparaka for the defending champions of the Uganda premier league. Mutebi first of all said they heard about the player’s desire to join KCCA FC, below is what he said exactly:

“….we heard about him, Shaban is an Onduparaka player, hope it’s clear! He is not yet our player. He wrote on Facebook, we don’t play on Facebook, his writings show he wants to join KCCA.”

However Mutebi didn’t deny that the club would be interested in the striker. According to him, if it is possible, then the player is welcome to KCCA except for the imminent fixture, the world should not expect to see Shaban in yellow and blue.

“We can welcome him but he is not yet our player. He is not in our plans of tomorrow’s match. If it’s possible, we shall welcome him, he can be useful to our team. But right now, he is not in our thoughts so don’t expect him in tomorrow’s match because he is not our player.” Concluded Mutebi.

Amidst all the rumors, what a reliable and close source Shaban admitted the fact that the young lad wants to join KCCA although his current club is not willing to sell him to a direct rival.

Onduparaka deems the Kasasiro a direct rival because of the shameful 7–1 defeat the West Nile team suffered last season in the second round of the league.

In the first ever encounter between the two clubs, Shaban inspired the then considered underdog to a 2–1 victory at the green light stadium with his brace.

Tomorrow, Mutebi Mike’s boys and Mbabazi’s will face each other for the third time in history. Kick off time for the game is 4:00 pm.
