Congo Brazzaville and Ghana shared spoils in a one all draw at the Baba Yara Stadium during round three of the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.

Congo matches into the stadium knowing they were pointless and desperately needed a points whereas Ghana had one point but still had need to win so as to close the gap with Egypt which suffered a one nil defeat to Uganda the previous day.

The Congolese captain Thievy Bifouma put The Red Devils in charge of the game in the first half at the 18th minute.

The black stars first half goal by Thomas Partey from a free kick was disallowed for an offside at the 13th minute whereas the second half saw Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder equalized to level the scores for zealous Ghana.

The draw puts Ghana third on the table with two points behind second place Egypt who holds six points whereas frustrated Congo seats last on the table with only a point as Uganda enjoys leadership of group E table with seven points.

Meanwhile at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium–Uyo, Nigeria destroyed the African Champions Cameroon.

Cameroon lost shamefully by four goals to nil to a side that has won all their three fixtures collecting maximum of nine points.

Odion Ighalo, former Chelsea player Mikel Obi, Chelsea Wing back Victor Moses and Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho all appeared on the score.

Ighalo put Nigeria in charge of the game at the 29 minutes, a few minutes to the end of first half, Moses took a corner that Obi took advantage of to double the home side lead.

Ten minutes into second half Moses scored the third goal whereas 20 year old Iheanacho sealed the deal for Nigeria by heading into the net Ogenyi Onazi’s cross.

Nigeria tops the table with nine points, followed by Cameroon which has two, Zambia one and Algeria one.
