KCCA Regains Top Position After Draw With URA

Kampala – From Caf confederation to Azam Premier League, then Uganda cup, KCCA has pulled through a tight schedule. Could this be prove of the muscle the defending Champions of AUPL have.

From overcoming Egyptian side Al – Masry, Mike Mutebi’s side flew in the country to battle another giant Ugandan side, URA to at least share points. In the two all draw, Feni Ali of URA opened the scores just 15 minutes into the game. Substitute Isaac Muleme who came in to replace Paul Mucureezi volleyed an equalizer just 9 minutes before first half.

Diego Hamis Kizza restored the visitors lead in the second half. URA’s Julius Ntambi by 66’ held the ball in the box provoking referee Alex Muhabi to award the home side a penalty. Geofrey Sserunkuma took the responsibility and converted it in perfectly raising his goal tally to 16.

In a table of 16 teams, KCCA tops the table with 47 points and 22 games played. SC villa follows them with equal number of points but KCCA stands better with goal difference, on the other side the Kasasiro boys have three games at hand.
