Arsenal Rendered Useless

Crystal palace which is seated 16th on the table rendered the Gunner’s useless in the Premier league encounter at the Selhurst Park. With the three nil Victory Manchester United had the previous night over Sunderland, the unbelievable results for Arsenal from a rational point of view fades off their Champions League hopes as fans get more convinced that Wenger Should leave.

Andros Townsend gave Crystal Palace the lead by 17’.  Much as the first ten minutes seemed dominated by visitors, the Townsend capitalized on their chance and put the home team in charge. Seven minutes later Alexis Sanchez got a chance to score but shot wide. By 63’ Yohan Cabaye doubled the lead while Luka Milivojevic five minutes later notched goal number three from a spot kick.

According to Palace Coach Sam Allardyce, it isn’t a sock for him that they overcame Arsenal. Speaking to BBC Journalist Allardyce said;

Tactically the players were aware of how to beat Arsenal. The first thing was to defend and frustrate them, keep them playing sideways, then use the space behind the full backs. Arsenal have been weak defensively, they leave the center backs exposed.”

Goal opener Townsend said the victory was incredible and they were full of confidence. He added their win over Chelsea made them believe it was possible to replicate the results against Arsenal.

It was an incredible victory. We’re full of confidence and we were confident we could do it tonight after the win in Chelsea.”  Quoted the 25-year-old English winger.

Arsene Wenger who was unclear about his future when asked earlier on before kickoff, from facial expression looked saddened with the results of the match. The French boss speaking to journalist said there is no explainable reason why the club did not deliver;

We lost too many duels and we paid for that. There is no obvious reason why. We prepared and everyone prepared well. It’s difficult to explain just after the game. I don’t think my players want it, but we lost duels in decisive moments and that’s how games are decided at this level.”

Against still replying to journalist questions, Wenger expressed disappointed for losing to their opponents;

I understand our fans are disappointed and we all are deeply tonight. It’s very worrying and disappointing the way we lost the game. Palace were sharp, they beat Chelsea the other day, and that shows they have quality. We are in a difficult position. The game tonight doesn’t help

Regarding his future again, the 67-year-old said he faces the question every day in press conference however he wasn’t in the moods of talking about it.

I face it every press conference at the moment tonight I’m not in the mood to speak about it.” Quoted Wenger

The lose means Arsenal remains 6th on the table, with 54 points and 3 points behind Man united. Considering the Vigorous fight by the Top five teams, Arsenal’s champions League hopes for the next season melts like candle.
