History of the Uganda super League.

The Uganda Super League was started in 1968 as the national first division league.

Express F.C is the oldest club in the league, it was started in 1956.

Three super league clubs have the most number of league titles among them.

SC. Villa (was started in 1975) has a record 16 titles, Followed by KCC( was started in 1967) with 8 and Express with 5.

URA F.C has two league titles.

After four (4) seasons, the political turbulence affected the league and was consequently suspended missing the 1972 and 1973 seasons only to return as National Football League in 1974
The league was renamed Super League after trimming the number to 10 teams in 1982 with the emergence of SC Villa. The Uganda Premier league is now officially called the Uganda Super League since 2006 .
