Viane scored the only goal that reinstated joy at Green light Stadium as Onduparaka held KCCA FC to a one all draw on Tuesday evening.
Sekajugo Viane who could have scored more than a goal against the Kasasiro boys for Onduparaka was key and beacon of hope to desperate fans who desired vengeance.
Onduparaka trailed by a goal in the first half due to former striker Muhammad Shaban’s 6th minute goal and Viane who came close to scoring a couple of times before finally breaking through at the 73rd minute to level matters ignited morale and happiness in the faces of fans, teammates and technical team.
However the former JMC Hippos winger following a couple of attempts and deriving only a goal had mixed feelings over the result his goal produced for Onduparaka. Speaking to this Website, Viane in his own words had this to say;
“As a player you can’t give up, because football is all about taking chances, wasting and converting chances, so I had to push. It was what God gave me today, so then I am proud of it. I hoped to score more goals but this is what God gave me. As a player, I expected a win. But being a big team, we have to respect what we got. So I’m not excited but at the same time not disappointed.”
Viane’s goals have done more good to the clubs this season as in each fixture in which he scored, Onduparaka never lost; registered a draw, and five wins, 16 points of which seven were as a results of his only goal.
The draw is Onduparaka’s 4th in 2018 and 3rd under the stewardship of Simon Masaba and Adiga.
The Caterpillars look forward to maintaining the winning spirit and with free flowing, passing football in their next fixture away from home to Police FC.
