Onduparaka is deemed to dislike West Nile according to one of the regions football coaches, Dudu Bosco.
In a leaked whatsapp conversation, Dudu who is also a technical personnel in KCCA FC youth team seems to be un happy with the fact that Onduparaka did not release their first choice players the West Nile province requested.
“Onduparaka hates West Nile. They want to be alone in the game. We kept quiet but now some players will have to face the consequences. We take this war to another level, we are not fools.” Quotes Dudu.
It’s reportedly said, the West Nile province had requested for Onduparaka’s best such as Racid Toha, Okocha, Bida Ezra and Anyama but due to the imminent fixtures, the Arua based club only released Richard Anyama a response that didn’t go well with Dudu Bosco.
Mercy explained to this website the players in question had not recovered from injuries they sustained in various duties coupled with congestion of fixtures releasing them would be pricey to the club.
“On 4th we received a letter from FUFA asking for four players; Toha, Anyama, Okocha and Bida. The players in question are still recovering from injuries. Playing two games with one day in between is very risky for a club struggling to stabilize after a poor recent run. Toha is yet to fully recover from injury that kept him off for most of first leg. Bida got injured at the national u20 call that is why he played for less than 30 minutes [Onduparaka vs. Proline match]. Okocha too was injured at Proline game. However the club released Anyama in a letter to the competitions department of fufa and explained that they will be happy to release players for the next game.”
According her, Onduparaka’s explanation to FUFA Drum committee as to why they weren’t in position to release the requested players was taken in good faith. In response to Dudu’s lamentation, below is what she said;
“Onduparaka FC has raised the profile of West Nile and this is why we have separated ourselves from the love of money and instead focused on maturing talent. It is very disappointing to read spiteful comments from the regional organizers of the drum minus acknowledging the fact that our goal keeper played this game. As a club, we are committed to transforming our region through sports and such utterances shall never derail us.”
Toha, Anyama and Okocha had represented the region in a fixture against Karamoja weeks ago.
West Nile played a goalless match against Tooro Province on Saturday evening at the Arua Core PTC, Mvara Drii.
