Paulinho scored after Suarez’s opener before both went on to completing their braces whereas Messi was involved in two of those goals and experienced frustration from the woodwork in three occasions.
In the 4-0 victory, at the 29th minute Barcelona striker Luis Suarez tapped home Messi’s assist. 12 minutes later, Brazil international Paulinho finished a rebound off the cross bar following Messi’s shot.
The second half presented the La Liga table leaders with another two goals which came at the 47th minute from Suarez and 75th minute from Paulinho who similarly utilize a goal post ricochet this time off from Jordi Alba shot.
Before Paulinho scored the 4th goal, Messi had the chance to do it from the spot kick following Federico Valverde’s bad tackle on Suarez in the box.
