Chelsea came out winners in their fixture with Southampton, thanks to Marcos Alonso successful free kick.
The Londoners could have taken lead before the breakthrough that came from the set piece. With Antonio Conte entrusting the main striking position to Eden Hazard and benching Alvaro Morata, whereas William and Pedro were positioned to feed him, the formation was a deadly one except only a goal materialized out of it.
Spaniard Alonso curled a free kick from distance and left Forster in a state of defeat as the ball went past Southampton goal keeper.
Meanwhile Belgium international Hazard scored a goal which was ruled out as Franscesc Fabregas who was involved in the buildup was considered off side.
Fabregas himself shot wide following Pedro’s shot that hit the post and the rest was history as the Chelsea registered their eighth win in a 10 league matches.

Southampton forward Charlie Austin who came in the second half tried to make a difference when he forced Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to make his first save, the attempt was the only on target the visitors registered.
