Uganda came from behind to level scores through Derrick Nsibambi’s late goal as they forced Ethiopia to a one all draw.
An early defensive smugness by the cranes defense gifted Abdel Abubeker with an opportunity that resulted into the 22nd minute goal which gave Ethiopia a lead for an hour before Uganda succeeded in the fight and restored score levels at the 85th minutes through KCCA striker Nsibambi.
Two player of Uganda were red carded yet the cranes managed to maintain the status quo goal wise. First, left back defender Isaac Muleme got sent off at the 80th minutes after receiving the second yellow card before Timothy Awany received what he deserved at the 93rd.
Although Uganda failed to win the fixture, a draw with Ethiopia not only enabled Moses Basena’s side to finish as table leaders of group B but together with Burundi the title defenders earn the right to feature in the Semifinals of the CECAFA senior challenge cup meanwhile Sudan and Ethiopia are practically out.
