Tottenham Hotspurs beat Borussia Dortmund, Kane and Son on score sheet

Tottenham Hotspurs came from behind to beat German side Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to keep applaud able group stage record as they qualified for the last 16 of the champions league.

Borussia Dortmund took the lead through Aubaymeng’s goal at the 31st minutes whereas Harry Kane equalized at 39th minutes before Son Heung-min completed the comeback for the English side with his 76th minutes goal.

Tottenham goes to the next level as table leaders amazingly given the fact that they failed to progress past seemingly same level amidst easier opponents the previous season.

Their qualification was endorsed after an oddly 3-1 victory over Real Madrid 20 days ago and Spurs dangerous kid Harry says they’ve proved their doubters wrong.

“The group we had, a lot of people doubted us and we wanted to prove them wrong.” He added, “Hopefully we can build on this for the rest of the campaign.

Likewise, Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino was more scared of the 2017/ 2018 group compared to the previous season’s.

“The season before, we were watching the draw and we thought: ‘Oh Monaco, Leverkusen and CSKA’ and we thought we had a chance to go to the next stage. Then this draw we looked between us and thought: ‘Ok we are going to compete and we say nothing’ – and look now we are first, top of the table.”  Said Tottenham manager.

The world gained confidence in Tottenham following the victory they had over Real Madrid but they fell short of glory as beating Crystal palace came with struggle besides losing to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium by 2–0.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli’s poor performance in their last fixture seemed evidenced again in the encounter with Borussia Dortmund but the second half show both England internationals do great.

Alli set up Dortmund former tormenter, Son Heung-min in the Bundesliga to torment them again with his winner as Kane scored the equalizer.
