Manchester United shortens distance to Europa title after away victory over Celta Vigo

Manchester United moves closer to Europa after teenage English forward Marcus Rashford’s 67th minute free kick couldn’t be saved by Celta Vigo goal keeper Sergio Alvarez.  Marcus who as well notched United’s winner in the quarter finals of the competition weeks ago against Anderlecht curved the free kick from approximately 22 yards with his right foot to the bottom left corner.

Jose Mourinho revealed Marcus Rashford extra work during training resulted into the goal speaking to BBC sports, the Portuguese said;

“Rashford is a 19-year-old kid who is in love with football. He stays after training for half an hour to practice taking free-kicks and waits for the opportunity.”

Regarding possibilities of winning at old Trafford so as to qualify for the finals, Jose added;

“We tried to win the match but we missed chances. We played well, we were compact against a team who are difficult to play against. Let’s hope Old Trafford wants us to win because when Old Trafford wants it, we win.”

Nevertheless preemptively, the 18-year-old’s goal puts Jose Mourinho’s side in a better chance and gives hopes for the English side to win the only trophy they’ve never won in history if they reached finals. With the away goal advantage, Eduardo Berizzo’s side will have to work hard to at Old Trafford to either win by 2-1 otherwise a goalless draw would sanctioned The Red devils for the finals as.

The return leg is next Thursday 11th May but before that, both teams will battle opponents in their domestic competition specifically Man United facing Old enemy Arsenal on Sunday while Celta Plays Malaga the same day.
