After four consecutive games played by Man City without picking maximum three points, finally Pep Guardiola’s boys easily overcame hopeless Hull City. Manchester City possessed the ball throughout the match and inevitably showed hunger and determination for victory and indeed, ‘City wants it, city gets it this time.’
Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady gifted their hosts with an own goal by 31’. Three minutes into second half, Sergio Aguero genuinely doubled the lead for Manchester and Raheem Sterling assisted Fabian Delph to score the third goal. Andrea Ranocchia of Hull City got a consolation goal by 85’
Manchester City Boss Guardiola said it was important for them to win after four consecutive matches without wins. According to the Spanish tactician, the game deserved more goals, in his own words this is what he had to say;
“It was important for us to win after many days without a win. We started well and created chances and we had the right attitude. We could have scored many more goals. It is frustrating not to get clean sheet but we defended poorly at set-pieces. It will definitely go to the last day [the fight for top four]”
Similarly, Hull Boss Marco Silva admitted Manchester deserved to win because Hull reacted well after the first goal and had chance to score but Manchester city scored after half time.
“The second goal was the key but they deserved to win the game. We reacted well after the first goal and had a chance to score but they scored after half-time and that was key. It’s in our hands, we have six games to go and we will work hard. Since I came here I was confident and I have passed that on to our players” Quoted Silva.
4th place Manchester City will visit Southampton on Saturday 15th April at St Mary’s Stadium whereas Hull City will be hosted by Stoke City on Saturday 15th April at the bet365 stadium.
